In memoria di Marcus Claudius Tacitus (200-276). Imperatore romano dal 275 al 276, nacque a Interamna (Terni) in Umbria. Nel corso della sua vita egli ricoprì vari ruoli civili, incluso quello di console nel 273, con rispetto universale. Dopo l'assassinio di Aureliano egli venne scelto dal Senato per la sua successione. Durante il suo breve regno egli avviò alcune riforme nazionali e cercò di ripristinare l'autorità del senato, ma, dopo una vittoria sui Goti, in Cilicia, egli perì per le avversità e la fatica ( oppure venne ucciso dai suoi stessi soldati ) a Tyana in Cappadocia.

Named in memory of Marcus Claudius Tacitus ( 200 a.C. 276 a.C.) Tacitus Marcus Claudius, Roman emperor from a.C. 275 to 276, was a native of Interamna (Terni) in Umbria. In the course of his life he held various civil offices, including that of consul in 273, with universal respect. After the assassination of Aurelian he was chosen by the senate to succeed him. During his brief reign he set on foot some domestic reforms, and sought to revive the authority of the senate, but, after a victory over the Goths in Cilicia, he succumbed to hardship and fatigue (or was slain by his own soldiers) at Tyana in Cappadocia.
